Have you seen the Bash poster visual and logo yet? Check out the concept of these eye-catching images by our designer, Yoko Murakami (TR39501, 501st Legion).
This poster visual was created by arranging ukiyo-e to express a traditional Japanese image. Based on Hiroshige II’s “Shin Sakanaba“, various characters are drawn with the concept that “aliens living in the Outer Rim are enjoying a festival on a planet similar to Japan, while the Imperial Army and the Rebel Army have come to scout it.” Have fun looking for aliens.
In contrast, the logo is inspired by modern Japanese pop culture. By mixing kanji and alphabets, the character “matsuri” (festival) expresses the flexibility of Japanese culture, which enjoys absorbing everything from Japanese and Western to new and old.

あっと目を引くBashのポスタービジュアルとロゴはもう見ましたか？デザインのコンセプトについて、デザイナーのYoko Murakami (TR39501, 第501軍団)に聞いてみました。
ポスタービジュアルは伝統的な日本のイメージで浮世絵をアレンジしました。歌川広重二世『新肴場』をベースに、「アウターリムに生息するエイリアン達が日本に似たどこかの星のお祭りを楽しんでいるところを帝国軍や反乱軍も偵察に来た」という想定で色んなキャラを描きました。

ロゴは対照的に現代のJapaneseポップカルチャーをイメージ。漢字とアルファベットをmixして祭という文字を作り、和洋新旧なんでも取り入れて楽しんでしまう日本文化の柔軟さを表現しました。
