Welcome to the world of traditional Taiko drumming, which captivates audiences worldwide with its powerful rhythms and dynamic performances. Whether you are a music enthusiast or simply interested in Japanese culture, Taiko offers an immersive experience that resonates deeply with the heart and soul. Self-introduction of WAKODAIKO
We are committed to preserving the “elegant drumstick handling” where drummers synchronize their breathing and put their hearts into each beat, just like “Itaidoushin (異体同心 : being of one mind).”
We have performed at over 30 overseas events, not only across Japan but also in Europe, Asia, North America, and the Middle East. We have been invited to the San Francisco International TAIKO Festival 15 times.
In recent years, we have dedicated performances at Ise Shrine, participated in inbound events such as cruise ships and Haneda Airport Garden, and worked to promote traditional performing arts through media appearances.
Last year, on June 9th, we held our 50th-anniversary commemorative performance “Inase.”
In September, we performed at the concert “Hibiki” in Florida, USA, supported by the Consulate-General of Japan in Miami, and also gave a support performance at the “JAPAN DAY” event during a Major League Baseball game.
Without being swayed by the times, we continue to strike the original sound of Japanese drums, layering rhythms, and pursuing the three elements of music: sound strength, tone, and dynamics. Our creed is to “play with the heart,” and we are dedicated to preserving the true “way of the drum.”

和光太鼓 自己紹介
“異体同心”のごとく打ち手同士が呼吸を合わせて一打一打に心を込める“粋な桴さばき”を継承したく活動しております。
日本全国のみならず、ヨーロッパ、アジア、北米、中東など30を超える海外でのイベントに出演。サンフランシスコ International TAIKO Festivalには15回招聘されております。
近年は伊勢神宮への奉納演奏の他クルーズ客船や羽田エアポートガーデンといったインバウンド向けイベントや、メディア出演を通じて伝統芸能の普及にも尽力しています。
昨年は6月9日に発足50周年記念公演「音粋（いなせ）」を開催いたしました。
9月にはアメリカ・フロリダにて在マイアミ日本国総領事館の文化支援によるコンサート「響」に出演した他、メジャーリーグ試合内でのイベント「JAPAN DAY」にて応援演奏をいたしました。
時代の流れに捉われず、和太鼓本来の音色を打ち鳴らし、律動を重ね、音楽の三要素、音の強さ・音色・強弱を目指し“心で打つ”を信条に本物の“太鼓道”を守り歩んでおります。
