Meet Bonjo, a delightful dance team that brings cuteness and charm to every performance! Their Bon Odori dances, traditional Japanese folk dances, are not only fascinating but also easy for everyone to join in and enjoy. Get ready to dance along and have fun with them!

Profile

Bonjo (盆女) is a Bon Odori performance unit formed by experienced Nihon Buyo (Classical Japanese dance) dancers. They operate under the themes of “fascinating Bon Odori” and “Bon Odori for everyone.” They are working on their goals.

As “Sado Okesa” (a local folk song and its dance) was no longer danced in the representative’s hometown of Niigata, they began activities in Tokyo to promote Sado Okesa. With the passion to pass on this tradition to their hometown, they formed this dancing team in 2015.

プロフィール

盆女 – bonjo は、日本舞踊経験者で結成された盆踊りパフォーマンスユニットです。
「魅せる盆踊り」と「皆で踊る盆踊り」をテーマに活動しています。

代表の地元新潟で佐渡おけさが踊られなくなったことをきっかけに、東京で佐渡おけさを広める活動を始め、地元へ伝統を引き継ぐという想いで2015年に結成しました。
